Duvel

The Facts:
Name: Duvel
Origin: Belgium
Percentage: 8.5%
Price: £1.55 from Tescos

Interesting Notes:
When the first experimental batch of Duvel was made, as yet unnamed, a brewery worker is said to have exclaimed, "This is the devil of a beer."

In Belgium, Duvel is usually regarded as an apertif, though I also enjoy it as a digestif especially after a fruity dessert.

Luke’s Take: Pretty sweet beer, bubbly and easy to drink - a little too easy considering the 8% alcohol volume. Very nice!

The first of many

Those who know me, know I like a beer. Whether it be a lager on a hot summers day or an ale or stout on a cold winters night. Having the opportunity to travel gives me to ability to sample the different brews of the world and I plan to document them before I loose my taste buds, or have too many and forget. Unlike other beer tasting sites, I will not be going into too much detail about 'fruity aromas with subtle hints of orange' etc., mainly because I don't know what I'm talking about.

Cheers!
